Boosting Local Energy Efficiency Projects

White House continues retrofit efforts

Each area has its own unique approach to retrofitting buildings to make them more energy efficient. This push continues the president’s message made during his State of the Union address in which he said, "No area is more ripe for such innovation than energy, but to create more of these clean-energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives."

Besides the obvious benefits of energy efficiency and a cleaner environment, the Retrofit Ramp-Up is expected to create 30,000 jobs over the next three years and save consumers $100 million annually in utility bills.
