Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc., is one of the largest and most experienced underwriting managers of professional liability and specialty insurance programs in the world. At Schinnerer, underwriting management has been a distinct discipline for nearly four decades. Our expertise lies in evaluating risks, implementing program marketing, developing and executing risk management activities, and servicing accounts on behalf of our insurance company partners. We then distribute these products through our distribution network of licensed brokers. No appointment is required to work with Schinnerer.
The Schinnerer Group currently handles over $621 million in premiums on behalf of several insurance carriers and through a large network of over 7,500 active brokers. Schinnerer offers a number of lines of coverage across several professional disciplines, issuing over 55,000 policies.

History
Victor O. Schinnerer & Company has been in the insurance business for over 65 years. The company was founded as an insurance brokerage in 1938 by Victor Schinnerer and his two business partners, Norman Benzing and Howard Nordlinger. In 1946, Schinnerer went out on his own to form Victor O. Schinnerer & Company. In 1956, the company was approached by The American Institute of Architects (AIA) to develop an insurance program for architects. Along with the AIA and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Schinnerer developed a professional liability policy that was the first of its kind for the design industry.
As the years went on, Schinnerer began to diversify its specialty offerings, expanding not only its product line for architects and engineers into property and casualty lines but also its coverages to other niche industries such as educational institutions, environmental consultants, VHA hospitals, not-for-profits, real estate agents and technology consultants.
