What type of Public Entities can you write?

Public Entities that may be eligible for one or more of our programs include:

  • Cities, towns and villages
  • Counties
  • Educational institutions
  • Special districts such as but not limited to water and sewer utilities, townships, boroughs and transit districts
  • Public entity pools

What coverages do you write?

Our primary focus is for Excess Liability for public entities desiring coverage over self-insured retentions, and specialty primary coverages including School Leaders E&O, Public Officials E&O and Underground Storage Tank liability coverage.

We also have market access to place primary liability coverages (General liability, auto liability, law enforcement and public officials liability) in some circumstances. Property coverages may be available for accounts looking for deductibles of $50,000 or more.

What types of educational institutions are offered School Leaders E&O coverage?

Entities that may be eligible for E&O coverage include:

  • Public schools (K-12)
  • Community colleges
  • Private schools (if not for profit)
  • Charter schools
  • Cyber-schools
  • Some four-year colleges may also be eligible

What are your target accounts?

Our target accounts include:

  • Public entity pools for consulting, program and underwriting administration  and/or reinsurance placement.
  • Larger public entities desiring liability coverage above self-insured retentions of $250,000 to $1,000,000.
  • Smaller public entities desiring specialty coverage placements such as E&O coverage and Underground Storage Tank coverage.

 

Do you manage any underwriting programs?

Presently, we do not have any underwriting programs that we manage. All of our offerings are on a wholesale basis, providing access to markets that are not always available to retail insurance agents.

What kinds of services do you offer public entity or school pools?

Our primary services available for pools include:

  • Program underwriting and policy administration
  • Reinsurance placements
  • Consulting services including coverage document review and design, rating module design and review.

Do you require an insurance agent to access your programs?

Services for public entity or school pools can be handled either directly with the pools or through their agents or administrators. All other insurance applications must be submitted through properly licensed insurance agents.

What happened to the San Franciso office?

The San Francisco office was closed in 2007. All of the active accounts were transferred to the Houston office for future handling. All questions about accounts written through the San Francisco office in 2007 or earlier can be forwarded to the Houston office.
